The Ronald McDonald House Charities of Huntington

At the Ronald McDonald House of Huntington, they believe healing is faster and coping is made easier when mom and dad are nearby. Their main goal is to provide a place for families to stay, eat, and rest while their child is recieving treatment. Most of the House's residents come from southern West Virginia, northeastern Kentucky and southeastern Ohio, but families from at least 31 other states and five foreign countries have stayed with them, too.

Thanks to the generous contributions of the Huntington community, the Ronald McDonald House of Huntington has been able to serve around 40 families a month- families like that of Jenna. Jenna was diagnosed with cancer and treated with chemotherapy when she was just 3 years old. Her grandmother Shannon Deskins is deeply grateful to have been able to stay near her grand-daughter during this tough time.

“I don’t know what we would have done without Ronald McDonald House in Huntington, I really don’t. They’ve given us a place to stay, close to the hospital where Jenna receives treatment for her leukemia. We have a roof, a place to do our laundry, warm meals.”
